I spotted this great dress a few weeks ago on Pinterest and I've been plotting how to make it ever since.
Then I stumbled upon Sweet Verbena's Boho Maxi dress.
Hmm... I think I've got the perfect knit for it too! I'm a little nervous to cut into it though. I think I may get two yards of a cheap knit to try it out and see what I think before potentially ruining my gorgeous fabric. What do you think? Pretty similar, right?

How are you finishing your arms and neck holes?
I'm also wondering how to best finish the neck and sleeve openings. Any experience?
If it's a knit, I would serge or zig zag!
Like Mom Gram Dee said I was thinking of serging it. I was also thinking about making bias tape out of the same material and finishing it that way. I'm interested to see what you end up doing. Please report back!
I'm going to try this dress, but to make the arms and neck looked finished out, I am going to try to double the fabric together and make sure the the seam side is next to my skin. I think this will work. Will post a pic if I am successful.

The one you spotted on Pinterest appears to have pockets....is that important to you? If so, they are easy to insert in a seam. Self-fabric bias tape is the way I would go, since I don't have a serger. I like making my own bias tape, anyway.
what if you just folded the seam allowance over and straight stitched it?
