Sewing doesn't always start with fabric!

Sewing a skirt or a shirt doesn't have to start with a yd or two of fabric.
New Dress A Day created a Julie & Julia style mission - no "traditional" clothing shopping for a year. Instead, she would buy clothes from thrift stores and make her own outfits.
365 days. 365 items of clothing. 365 dollars.

Yess!!! You see, this was what I was going for when I bought the curtain for my dress, which ended up as a skirt. It's all about flexibility and creativity :)

The 2nd life this dress got is so fabulous! I can't help but think that it looks like something Carrie Bradshaw would wear!

Jennifer, you are getting a post soon all about your curtain - turned dress - turned cute skirt. That was an awesome transformation.

And Jenn, you are so right... it is a little Carrie Bradshaw.
