My inlaws invited us up to San Juans for 3 days of boating around the islands. One day we tied up to a mooring buoy and kayaked in with our picnic lunch. We hiked the island and feasted on a beach on the opposite side. I had never been to Sucia Island so it was a fun adventure for me. I forgot my camera on this trip, so I used my Iphone to document our 3 days. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of some of the photos.
It's physically hard to get the San Juans from Portland... braving hours of traffic to try to make the last or first ferry out of town. But it's even harder to leave the islands once you are there. The beautiful scenery has some of the most beautiful and relaxing landscapes I have ever seen. I'm already looking forward to our trip next year.
