I have always loved buttons, but as a sewer I have found them to be even more appealing. My grandmother had a button collection, but sadly it is lost.
For Christmas this year, Michael's grandmother gave me her collection. I was almost in tears when I opened it in front of the entire family. Many are from the 60s, and are very unique. Some of the buttons are still on the original paper with a 29 cent price tag. I love the simplicity and yet the history that can comes with a button. Was it worn on a trip to Paris? Was it once on a favorite shirt?
Inspiring. Simple. Lovely.
